Her haunted gray eyes and darting looks lead him to believe something is drastically wrong. No matter how hard he pushes her, she won’t confide in him. Brayden vows to discover what she is hiding—before it is too late.
She’s his angel . . . his love . . . his obsession . . .
Demented and sadistic, he’d once possessed her. And though she’s been gone nine long years, he knew she wasn’t dead, and now he’s finally found her. He knows everything about her. Everything she does. Where she works, where she lives. And he’s come back into her life to reclaim what’s his.
"Deadly Obsession is the third story about the Kinncaid family and is a heart-wrenching tale. A well-written, in-depth romantic suspense, Jaycee Clark's Deadly Obsession is one of those stories that will linger in your mind and heart long after the story is over.” —Sinclair Reid, Romance Reviews Today

4.5 Stars
"This is an exceptionally well-written novel. It's Clark's third book about the lives of the compelling Kinncaid brothers, but it easily stands alone. The main characters are subtle and complex from page one, especially the particularly strong, emotionally full-ranged heroine. The dialogue is outstanding, and the pacing both realistic and highly suspenseful." —Marilyn Weigel, Romantic Times

Deadly Obsession Deadly series Book 3 edition by Jaycee Clark Romance eBooks
This book is the story of Brayden and Christian. Christian has been with the Kinncaid family since she showed up on their doorstep some 8 years prior. They accepted her, no questions asked. She ended up being a nanny of sort to Brayden's daughter, Tori. Christian has always had a thing for Brayden but figured he only saw her as surrogate sister. That all changed one night when they ended up in bed together. The next morning doesn't go well as Brayden tells Christian it was a mistake. So she finds the courage to leave the Kinncaid mansion and set out on her own.She moves closer to DC where she manages one of the Kinncaid's businesses. Little does she know that a man from her past has finally found her and will stop at nothing to get her back. She starts receiving little gifts and pictures reminding her of her past and why she ran away. Brayden has figured out what a jerk he was and how much he misses her, so he starts sniffing around again.
Christian is viciously attacked in her home one night. For some readers, this may be hard to read. Even though the author doesn't go into explicit details, enough is left to the imagination. After Christian is rescued, Brayden swoops in to bring her back into the Kinncaid fold.
But the story doesn't end there. The man from her past wants her back and will stop at nothing to get her. On and on goes the taunts, threats, and abduction attempts. We see Christian struggle with letting go of her fear to have a future.
The part I didn't love was how long it took Christian to make a decision. She seemed to waiver back and forth A LOT of whether she would tell her story or not. She kept to herself for so long that it got annoying. The middle part of the book seemed to drag a bit. The beginning and end were very good though. We again saw the Kinncaid family band together. Even Ian comes back, in his own mysterious way.
All in all, I really enjoyed this book. I look forward to the next book, which will have Ian's story. We'll finally get the answers as to why he's been gone all these years!

Deadly Obsession Deadly series Book 3 edition by Jaycee Clark Romance eBooks Reviews
Deadly Ties, the 3rd installment of the Kinncaid Brothers series was such a heartwarming story. After reading this, I went and read some of the reviews. All though I do agree that Christian should have told Brayden and the rest of the Kinncaid family who her stalker was, I also do understand. If you think about it, coming from her point of view, she's told people in the past and those people she's lost because of it, I can understand her fear of losing anyone in the Kinncaid family as now they are her true family. It's all based on fear, but fear can make you do foolish things and make the wrong decisions.
That being said, I do have to say that this was one of my favorites so far in the Kinncaid Brothers series. Reading the abuse and rape and horrible past that Christian went through brought up some very bad memories for me. It was hard to read through, but I loved how Jaycee Clark wrote Christian's character. Yes, again, she should have been honest with the Kinncaid family, but she went from being a victim to a strong woman who was willing to fight back and win her freedom from fear.
And again I really enjoyed how the entire Kinncaid family moved to stand by her as family should do, even though she kept secrets. Deadly Ties was a very moving, emotional, romantic, and heartwarming story. It was intense, with lots of twists and turns, action packed and well written. It was frustrating at times, but also a nail biter. I was glued to the book. Hard to put down.
One of my favorites so far. I can't wait until the next one.
My Review
Overall.... 4.50
Performance... 4.75
Story.... 4.25
So far, this has definitely been the best of the series. I loved this book...probably just because Christian and Brayden have had such a long relationship. She had been part of the family since she ran away from her family in her teens. To the other Kinncaid brothers, she's like a sister, which is why Brayden is so discombobulated by his new sexual feelings for her. He doesn't know what to do with this, but knows he doesn't want to do anything that could threaten Christian's standing in the family, so he steps back from his feelings for her. Something she does not appreciate at all.
I liked the by-play between Christian and Brayden at the beginning and LOVED how she stood up to him. She's always been there for him in raising his daughter Tori and just assumes that she always will be, no matter what happens between them emotionally. I love that she stood up to him on that and showed him that he couldn't take advantage of her. And watching her entire life-story unfold was heartbreaking. She's been through so much and has come out as such a strong character. I loved her.
And with this entire series...Kinncaid men...one word- YUMMY! Brayden doesn't change that at all. I love these guys and how protective they are and how they all work together to protect their women...including Ian, the black sheep who always shows up to help out. (I can't wait for his story!)
And, as always, Johanna Parker was AMAZING at her narration. I love her voices...both male and female. They work for me and she is definitely up there as one my favorite narrators.
